Motorola Droid Bionic Release Date on August 4

The Motorola Droid Bionic might be unfamiliar to many of us in the UK. That’s because it’s being heralded on the other side of the pond primarily for its 4G network capabilities, which isn’t of much interest to us yet. But the Droid Bionic has a lot more than fast download times going for it.
Reasons to be jealous
So why be excited about the Droid Bionic? Because, quite simply, it represents Motorola’s answer to the current leading lights of the Android smartphone world – the Samsung Galaxy S 2 and the HTC Sensation.
That means it’s a bit of a performance heavyweight, with a 4.3-inch qHD screen (very similar to the Sensation) and a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor. Flip it over and you’ll find an 8-megapixel camera with a dual-LED flash.
The last we heard, the Tegra 2 processor would be backed by a slightly scanty 512MB RAM, but there’s a chance this will be bumped up (more on which later). Like the Galaxy S 2, the Droid Bionic has plenty of internal storage to keep your apps, music and videos on – 16GB to be precise.

Sony Xperia Neo Release

Until fairly recently, if you wanted a top notch smartphone camera you needed to splash out for one of the top-end smartphone handsets. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo changes all that, offering a killer camera in a decent mid-tier handset. Check out our video as we go hands-on.
We’re big fans of the Xperia Neo’s focused approach. If taking pictures is your bag, there are few better options for the money than the Xperia Neo’s 8.1-megapixel snapper with that fabulous Exmor R image sensor.

iPhone 2 Released

Following scarcely believable rumours that the iPad 3 could be released a scant six months after the iPad 2, a fresh report has claimed that an interim device labeled the iPhone 2 Plus could be launched in time for Christmas. Read on for more details.
FBR Capital Markets analyst Craig Berger has told clients that “there are some indications from the supply chain that Apple may look to introduce an ‘iPad 2 Plus’ device.” Berger believes that Apple has been requesting quotes from manufacturers to construct a “marginally different device,” although there’s been no solid production schedule set.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray Release Date

Out of Sony Ericsson’s recently announced batch of Android smartphones, the Xperia Ray looks like having the widest appeal. It’s stylish, compact and not too shabby on the spec front either. Read on for the full lowdown, as well as a likely release date.

Nokia N9 Release

The much rumoured Nokia N9 has finally been revealed. Nokia’s last major solo release before it pals up with Microsoft isn’t the token effort some might have predicted, though, with a number of striking design decisions and innovative features. Read on to find out more.

Nokia E5 Specs, Reviews, Price and Photos

The next handset in Nokia’s business-conscious Eseries range, theNokia E5, will be available from 30 July, in two weeks.

Online retailer Play.com has posted both a price and release date for the upcomingNokia E5 smartphone. It’ll be available from 30 July and will sell for £219.99 SIM-free. The stated RRP is £249.99, which is above what we were expecting for this mid-range handset.
The Nokia E5 is a Symbian-powered smartphone that packs a mini-Qwerty keyboard perfect for writing emails on-the-go. Taking an old-school approach to its design, the Nokia E5 is a resolutely non-touch device. The buttons on this bad boy click — there’s no haptic feedback or touch sensitive nonsense to be seen.
It may not be a phone suited to those that like to live on the cutting edge of tech, but we’re sure it’ll find its fans. The Nokia E5 uses an older edition of Symbian, S60 3rd edition, than seen in phones like the Nokia N97, but it’s fully connected up with 3G and Wi-Fi on-board.
